Sleep is the third most important biological need for humans to sustain life, surpassed only by water and food. Without proper sleep people are much more susceptible to sickness and disease. Sleep deprivation can also make people feel lethargic and this can lead to depression and a lack of hope.
Our orphans and students at Mwaji Secondary School and Isandula Technical College need proper sleep to be able to study and get an education that gives them a hopeful future.
We are happy to announce our partnership with Relief Bed International. Relief Bed is donating 48 mattresses to Orphans Africa which will be sent to Tanzania for our students. These mattresses have innovative self-inflating technology, are easily compressed for transporting and are water resistant and cleanable. They are designed to last much longer than the mattresses that have been purchased locally in Tanzania in the past.
Relief Bed International is a 501c3 working out of Tacoma, Washington. Their mission is focused on improving health, strength, and hope by providing innovative and strategically built beds to homeless shelters in North America, impoverished people in emerging countries, and disaster victims. Their mission partners well with Orphans Africa’s mission to improve the lives of orphans who are the poorest and most vulnerable in Tanzania.
We thank Scott Smalling, Founder of Relief Bed International, for his generous donation of mattresses! You can read more about Relief Bed International at www.reliefbed.com.
